Liver cancer develops when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the liver, one of the body's most important organs responsible for filtering toxins, aiding digestion, and storing nutrients. It is often associated with chronic liver diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or liver cirrhosis. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), and fatigue. Early diagnosis is crucial for successful treatment. Depending on the stage of the disease, treatment may include liver surgery, minimally invasive or robotic surgery, liver-directed therapies, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or chemotherapy.
