Oral cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the mouth, including the lips, tongue, cheeks, gums, floor of the mouth, roof of the mouth, or throat. It is commonly associated with tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and HPV (Human Papillomavirus) infection. Symptoms may include a persistent mouth ulcer, a lump, difficulty swallowing, pain while chewing, or white or red patches inside the mouth. Early detection is essential, as it significantly improves treatment success. Depending on the stage of the disease, treatment may include surgery, minimally invasive or robotic procedures (in selected cases), radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these treatments.
